Seed Hunter has been busily making its way around the globe to various film festivals in Canada, USA, China and Japan.

In October, Seed Hunter screened in Toronto at the Planet In Focus Festival and also in Yerevan, Armenia at the Sun Child Film Festival. Armenian seed collector Natalya Rukhyan was able to present the film and chat to the audience.

The film was then invited to screen at the United Nations Association Film Festival in Palo Alto, just outside San Francisco, at the end of October. This year, the Festival’s theme was climate change and energy, so we were thrilled to have Seed Hunter up there on the big screen.

Another award came our way in November. Seed Hunter won the Gold Panda Grand Prize for Nature at the Sichuan TV Festival in Chengdu, China. Sally Ingleton was there to pick up the award.

Sally then went on to Japan where Seed Hunter had a special screening at the Australian Embassy in Tokyo followed by a screening in Kanazawa as part of the inaugural Kanazawa Environment Film Festival run by the United Nations University. The screening was followed by a public seminar on environmental film making.

‘Tibet: Murder in the Snow’ was awarded the People’s Choice Award at the 2009 Flagstaff Mountain Film Festival.

Sally Ingleton was there to take part in the festival and attend the screening and was pleased to be joined by Luis Benitez, one of the featured mountaineers in the film.

360 Degree Films is excited to announce that Seed Hunter has been selected as one of five programs worldwide in the Environment Category that will be competing for the famous Rockie Award at the 2009 Banff World Television Awards.

Produced and Directed by Melbourne based filmmaker Sally Ingleton, Seed Hunter (a 52 minute documentary) follows Australian scientist Dr Ken Street on a quest to find ancient seeds whose genes may help save our food from the impact of climate change. Seed Hunter is striking a chord with audiences’ worldwide. Since it’s release six months ago Seed Hunter has received numerous awards at festivals across the globe.

The Banff World Television Awards have long been recognized as one of the most prestigious awards in the industry. Producer and Director Sally is looking forward to representing Australia at the Festival, which takes place June 7-10 in Canada.

360 Degree Films is pleased to announce Josephine Wright as their new Development Producer, a position made possible through Film Victoria’s Internship with a Company Grant.

As the new Development Producer Jo will be responsible for the company’s development slate, working closely with producers John Moore and Sally Ingleton. She is keen to work with filmmakers who have innovative ideas in development that could potentially become documentaries (one-offs and series), digital media productions or low-budget features for 360 Degree Films.
