360 Degree Films would like to congratulate Scott from Welcome to My Deaf World and his partner Emma on the birth of their baby boy, Saxon Charles Masterson. Born Wednesday 4th July at 12:16pm – 8 pounds, he’s “Ready to take on the world.”
You may have noticed things are looking a little different here at 360 Degree Films. We have received funding from Film Victoria to re-design our website and we are in the process of offering our documentaries “On Demand” for downloading. In addition to these changes we are excited about moving our website to the latest “Word Press” technology.
We are thrilled to announce that with Screen Australia coming on board, Possum Wars has been completely financed and we are looking forward to welcoming 360 Degree Film’s newest member, director Bruce Permezel from July.
It has been a busy month for the staff at 360 Degree Films as we moved offices. Fortunately we have not bid farewell to the vibrant, diverse, melting pot of “Brunswick” as the new office is just around the corner!
We were sad to leave the old Post Office building above the Penny Black Hotel and its grand open space and view of Sydney Road but the new office is a lot quieter with less music from the pub, Sydney Road vendors and Melbourne trams.
Come and visit us soon.
Please note that are contact details are as follows:
Address: 245 Albert St, Brunswick
Phone: 03 8669 0540

Clips from The Tenth Dancer, Seed Hunter, Penguin Island and John Gollings: Eye for Architecture were shown during Sally’s talk for the AFTRS, Friday on My Mind program. Sally took a moment to reflect on her career while sharing her experiences with the audience. Discussing the craft of documentary production in an interview with Sandra Sdraulig was an opportunity for Sally to think about why she has chosen to work in documentary and inspire film practitioners and enthusiasts.

Inside Film magazine (IF) interviews director of Queen of the Desert, Alex Kelly.
Director Alex Kelly is always on the lookout for interesting, intercultural projects. Now, with some financial help from Screen Australia, Screen Territory and ABC TV, Queen of the Desert, Kelly’s most recent project for 360 Degree Films is heading to television.
Queen of the Desert follows a youth worker named Starlady who travels to Areyonga, an indigenous community in Central Australia in the hopes of using her hairdressing skills to help the people there.
“Starlady is an amazing character, full of wit, cheekiness and integrity”, says Kelly. “I visited a community in Western Australia where she had helped Wilurrara Creative set up a salon and was struck by the power of the program and immediately saw a film in my mind – it is such a colourful, playful and visual program.”
