Karin Steininger and directors Tosca Looby & Alex Tarney have been working hard in the edit suites at Sydney Post Production facility Two Dogs editing KIDS UNPLUGGED for the ABC.
The team is looking forward to turning it over to the wonderful folks at Sonar Music. Antony Partos & David McCormack will be composing a brilliant score for this insightful & entertaining look at modern Australian families.
THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN FLY is flying into living rooms across the country on ABC TV 8:30pm April 7 2015.
Directed by Tosca Looby and produced by Sally Ingleton, this amusing and intriguing film pays homage to a much-maligned invertebrate and the influence it has had on our world. Part social history, part scientific study, THE GREAT AUSTRALIAN FLY introduces the people who devote their lives to flies through science, criminology, medicine, as breeders and for love, and explains why we might need to stop swatting and start embracing the fly, because, like it or not, this pesky little insect looms large in our past, our present and our future.

The crew attended Holi fest last weekend. Holi is known as the festival of colours or the festival of love, which is fitting considering INDIAN WEDDING RACE is a celebratory film about young Indians in the Melbourne community who are looking for love.
Another joyous occasion is on the horizon. Dalvinder & Shamsher, one of our couples, are set to tie the knot next month. Our cameras have been rolling on Dalvinder & Sam since they first met and we’re delighted we’ll be with them at temple as they come together as husband and wife.
Sally Ingleton & Jessica Cook were at Net-Work-Play last week. The three-day conference brought together the best minds in factual screen content creation, broadcasting and technology and was hosted in Adelaide. Sally & Jessica were buoyed by the experience, bringing home new ideas about distribution.
Director Sean Cousins and cameraman Peter Zakharov have recently returned from a shoot in India. It was great to film the people and colour of the country. There’s been no slowing down for directors Tosca Looby and Alex Tarney on KIDS UNPLUGGED over the holidays. After completing principal photography at the end of last year, Alex and Tosca have been enthusiastically logging and working the script, ready to deliver it to editor Karin Steininger and the team at Two Dogs in Sydney. We can’t wait to see how it shapes up!

As tradition meets romance and parents meet potential suitors, these distinctive stories provide a unique insight into the challenges facing many young migrants in Australia. Can arranged marriage still work? Can you find love online? Are Indian-Australian parents out of step with rapidly modernising Indian values?
INDIAN WEDDING RACE will follow the trials and tribulations of these young Indians on their way to the alter – there’s sure to be broken hearts and high-drama; as well as henna, glittering saris, and a cast of thousands at the ultimate Big Fat Indian wedding! Carl Honore, world renowned ‘slow-coach’ has returned to Australia to film the second leg of KIDS UNPLUGGED – our documentary for the ABC about rescuing Australian kids from a culture of over-parenting.
Last visit Carl implemented a ‘slow schedule’ prompting three families to take a break from their scheduled activities and lock away their iPhones, iPads & laptops. Now he’s back to check in and see how they went, whether they feel better for it, or whether they are addicted to their fast-paced lifestyles.

The GREAT AUSTRALIAN FLY is now in the capable hands of Tristan Meredith doing sound post and Antony Partos who’s composing a killer soundtrack.
We are very happy with the film and feel like audiences will be thrilled to learn about how Aussie flies are not just a nuisance but saving lives.
