Not only is Seed Hunter making its way around the world (see our previous news item), it is also coming to television screens in its home country of Australia.

Seed Hunter addresses a topic that is vital for the future of the planet: finding seeds that may help save the world from its greatest ever crisis – a global food shortage brought about by human-induced climate change.

Join Dr Ken Street – a real life version of Indiana Jones – and his team of ‘gene detectives’ as they hunt for plant genes that will help our food withstand the impact of 21st century global warming.

ABC2 will be showing Seed Hunter on Sunday May 23rd at midnight (Sunday morning).

08.4.2010May 2010: A Month of Festivals for Seed Hunter

We are very pleased to share that Seed Hunter will be continuing its successful festival run with three new festivals announced for May 2010.

Seed Hunter has been nominated as a Finalist in the “Point of View” category at the International Wildlife Film Festival in Missoula, USA. The full list of screenings will be available online soon. In the meantime you can find out more about this prominent festival here.

In addition to this, Seed Hunter will also be part of the Reel Earth New Zealand Film Festival this May, located in Palmerston North. Screening dates are yet to be announced on the festival website.

Last but not least Envirofilm 2010 in Slovakia will also host a screening of the film as part of their programme running 10-15 May. This festival has long been renowned for showcasing creative films that address important environmental issues. Please visit the website for screening details.

10.3.2010March 2010 Screenings – John Gollings: Eye for Architecture

This intriguing look at the world of renowned architectural photographer John Gollings is due to screen at two prestigious film festivals this month.

The International Festival du Films sur L’Art in Montreal will be showing the film on the 19th and 28th of March, each screening starting at 6:30pm. To view the listing or buy tickets, click here.

London-dwellers and visitors will be able to go see the film at The 15th Barbican London Australian Film Festival on the 27th of March, 4:40pm. For more information please visit the festival website.

Fans of photography and architecture will be able to get their film fix as John Gollings: Eye for Architecture takes flight with Qantas! The film is now showing as part of the Qantas In-Flight Entertainment programme.

Penguin Island series is close to rough cut for all six episodes. Most of the filming has been completed, however, we are still following a few crucial stories.

Our wonderful Field Producer Hayley Smith returned home to the UK at the end of January and our DOP David Parer is keeping an eye on the weather for more underwater opportunities to film penguins at sea.

The series has attracted a lot of interest worldwide as buyers are keen to see what the world of the Little Penguin looks like.

The ABC will soon commence building the Penguin island website. One special section will include a selection of short home movies from families who have rich memories of life on Phillip Island. […]

11.2.2010Seed Hunter to screen on ABC1 in March

Seed Hunter will screen on ABC1 on Tuesday, 16th of March at 00:05am.

The film has had a busy few months at the end of 2009, visiting film festivals in many countries.

Seed Hunter has also been entertaining audiences in the USA. It recently screened at the Sonoma Environmental Film Festival last month. The next festival screening of the film will be at ‘The Environmental Film Festival in the Nation’s Capital’ in Washington, DC. The festival runs from the 16th to the 28th of March.

Every year the best Australian feature films and documentaries are invited to screen at the London Australian Film festival held at the Barbican in London.

It’s a real honour that Eye For Architecture is part of the prestigious lineup. When the Festival heard about the film they immediately knew it was a great way to showcase not only Australian life but a wonderful Australian artist.

The film will screen on 27 March at 16:40.

The History Channel will be featuring Menzies and Churchill At War three times in their programming this January.

You can catch the film on January 26th at 11:30pm, on January 27th at 7:30am and later that day at 3:30pm.
